While riding a horse a person’s sense of coordination and stability improves. By experiencing the constant repetition of the horses stride, and by absorbing the horses’ rhythm in the body, a person’s back and trunk muscles can be strengthened and become activated in ways they could not in any other exercise. Nerve patterns, that would have otherwise, perhaps laid dormant for an entire lifetime, can come alive! It also allows for tight ligaments to become more relaxed and at ease. Morgan's Place Located in Melbourne, Morgan’s Place is a fun place for children with special needs to come and stimulate their senses in an environment that is uniquely created just for them. Family Liason Project Serving Brevard County, the mission of the Family Liaison Project (FLP) is to build an active network of support to nurture and sustain families of children with disabilities through life’s transitions. The liaison's help parents negotiate the Individual Education Plan process with 1 on 1 prepartation and helping parents understand and take a procactive role as part of the educational planning team.
Florida Child Find FDLRS Child Find, in coordination with the school districts, locates children who are potentially eligible for services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and links them with needed services in the state of Florida. Child Find services help to promote general public awareness of programs and services available for young children who have or are at risk of developing disabilities. Service coordination for diagnostic screening, placement, training, and support is also provided.
